Alliance for African American Health in Central Texas is to empower African Americans living in the Central Texas counties of Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson to improve their health status through outreach, advocacy and education. Their vision is to reduce mortality, preventable illness and diseases that affect African Americans at higher rates than other ethnic group.

Palmer Drug Abuse Program of Austin | Preserving Their Future

PDAP’s mission is to help young people ages 13-25 in central Texas who are using and abusing drugs. PDAP supports youth in their struggle to achieve healthy life goals. The family program consists of twelve-step recovery services, meets and support groups.

Austin Community Foundation | Latina Mami

Latina Mami is a grassroots collective of working-class Latina mothers, located in Los Angeles, California and Austin, Texas. Latina Mami was founded in Austin in 2000 to build a support network for Latina mothers and their children.

Prairie View A&M Foundation | Getting Fit and Healthy
Among African-Americans, deaths from heart disease and diabetes have reached epidemic proportions. This program focuses on nutrition and physical activity to encourage lifestyle changes for young adults.
Boneshaker | 2015 Programs

Boneshaker works directly in the community to empower kids to feel physically strong from a young age. Through expert coach mentorship and online engagement, they encourage kids to ‘do what moves you,’ feel confident and enjoy healthy lifestyles.

Project Transitions | Seniors affected by HIV/AIDS

Project Transitions creates, dignity, every day by providing hospice care, transitional housing, and comprehensive support services for men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS.

Capital Area Food Bank | Kids Cafe
Kids Cafe ensures at-risk children receive appropriate nutrition in order to develop properly and perform well in school. Recreational centers in low income areas serve as the primary sites for feeding the children.
